Love Lewisham
Lewisham is a great historic community that our church considers a privilege to be part of. Covering approximately 14 square miles and with excellent transport links to Central London, we believe Lewisham to be one of the key boroughs within London itself as it stands as a great example of the eclectic mix of our capital.
Inside the borough of Lewisham over 248,000 people from different ethnic backgrounds together help to form one community with a cultural fusion which brings with it a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
Through our current engagement with our local government councillors and our hosting of the ward 'safer neighbourhood panels', we as a church are committed to maintaining the sense of safety and community in our locality, by allowing the unconditional love of God to flow through us into the lives of people within our community. We also have a dedicated community action team of volunteers called 'REACH' who focus on practically helping especially those who are disadvantaged within our community in order to keep a continuity of the sense of inclusiveness in the borough.
Today Lewisham town centre which is a 5 minute walk from our church location stands with excitement as it prepares for change. That change comes in the form of a regeneration project that will update the town centre to maximise its business potential and provide more access and jobs for the people of this great community. The regeneration project is called the 'Lewisham Gateway
Development', and our hope as a church is that as Lewisham goes through this physical development the community will also through our church find a gateway to experience a spiritual development that will help us all to be a blessing through our church and community and then our city.
